About 6 months ago, Bob Spurlock helped us sell our family owned business. Although I’m totally satisfied with the outcome, if I determine that retirement is not for me and decide to start up another business, build it to the point of selling and retiring (again), I’ll have no problem locating the right broker.

Bob was like a big brother or maybe better described as a mentor, because even though I had an educated estimation of the value of our company, I soon learned that value (as you value your life’s work) and worth (as determined by the numbers) were entirely two different things. Bob gently brought me off my cloud and described our company as prospective buyers viewed it.

Bob was able to defuse my ego and pride in my company, shake me back to reality, and show me what to expect. Then, although I knew he was working to give us the best deal we could find, he was also able to relay to prospective buyers, the projected future potential of the company.

As a result, we saw only a handful of possibilities and quickly ok’d or rejected them regardless of whether they made an offer. When the eventual buyer was presented, an offer was made, and easily accepted with no back and forth bidding games.
